Played queens birthday, came second in uk's under 19 militarymarching tattoo at royal albert hall, lord mayors show, travelledfrance, spain, germany and portugal to perform in many differentevents. took a few weeks of beginner guitar lessons at albany school,Hornchurch Essex. 1998- moved from greater london to skegness... Went out with my bro clubbing in ibiza (whilst on a family holiday...) 1999 mainly jammed my lunch times away with the band I played in,Wilderness.... Played spilsby theatre and a few local fund raising events. Spilsby High School production of Grease, played bass in the'pit band.' formed rock cover band necropolis, joint over the edge for recording of original material in hear no evil studio earls court. Also played live with these guys in skeg, boston, spaldingand grantham. 2000 performed as part of the 'our town story' reginal shows as well as performance inside the millenium dome (now known as the 02 arena) First jobs leaving school were; shelf stacker-(lasted 1 month) Glass collector/Celler boy/fast food attendant/pizza shop 'manager',this all happened during my 18 month employment by Luminar Leasure atFantasy Island, Ingoldmells. (Completed 2001) millenium vollenteer award, taught electric guitar and bass whilst acting as musical director in local youth clun. 2000 enrolled-2002 graduated. Sam Newsom Music Centre, a devision of Boston college, BTEC NationalDiploma in Popular Music(finishing with a distinction over all) NCFESound recording, a level sound technology. Grade five bass guitar,grade 6 electric guitar. Grade 3 theory. 2000-2001 with some friends from other local bands formed zx81, wroteand recorded original songs, plus won a local battle of the band. 2001-made it to glastonbury for first time :) (let the fests begin!) Started to work in The Shades Rock Bar, co-ordinated the acts andplayed there myself many times. (Above the bar was my black copy of anGibson SG guitar which I made for my technology project at school.) 2002 totnes school of guitar making 2003-2004 leeds college of music, higher national diploma in stringed musical instrument technolgy (finished with a distinction) -whilstmoonlighting as local crew/rigger for events crew ltd; worked on thestadium tours of peter gabriel, atomic kitten, incubus, beta band andthe shadows... 2004- ended up by random events at the Small World Festival inLincolnshire. There I saw a djembe being tunned in the back of a vanby chris (link?) So that eve i danced to djembe for first. In the smallhours whilst watching my new friends band, The Blue Book Project Iexperienced my first hang contact. Soon after this I'm moved to lincoln and became a greenpeace local,made a few fund raising events (blow out) got work for a fest withchaichapel, got my first djembe (link?) Chapel.... 2004-worked my first full festival season for ChaiChapel 2005-worked 12 fests for chai chapel 2006- went to ghana to learn about the full process of djembe manifacture. whole season worked fests for chai chapel INSTRUMENTS: Guitar- I first picked up one of my fathers guitars when I was about 12/13. Hang- I first cast my eyes onto a hang the same day that I first noticed the pure beauty of a well tuned African Djembe, I had just returned to the UK in the summer of 04 after spending a few months in Germany whilst working on the renovation of a old short thatch cottage on Insel Rugen>>> CasCas (ball shakers/african conkers) , lessons...
